Sulfuric Acid
Sulfuric acid or Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) is an inorganic compound and a basic chemical widely used as a starting material or catalyst in industrial processes. Its uses include as a raw material in chemical and petrochemical production, battery manufacturing, fertilizer production, and the extraction of certain metals. It is a clear, colorless, viscous liquid with strong corrosive properties.

This chemical is a strong and corrosive acid, highly corrosive, and can completely dissociate into ions. It can be used as a catalyst in processes requiring highly acidic conditions, such as nitration and sulfonation reactions.
Due to its high water solubility, sulfuric acid is classified as a dehydrating agent, capable of rapidly absorbing water from organic compounds and the atmosphere. It undergoes a highly exothermic reaction when in contact with water or organic compounds such as wood, sugar, or human tissue. Concentrated sulfuric acid, through this exothermic reaction, acts as an oxidizing agent and can also be used to dissolve and extract certain metals.
